PDP Members to Adeleke Movement: Be ashamed of your large scale forgeries.
PDP NEWS, Senator Ademola Adeleke’s political base has again been knocked for alleged forgery and identity theft by some chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Hon Dimeji Ogundare and Hon Dolapo Taiwo who doubled as Field Officers of Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi’s Idera De Movement.
The duo of Hon Dimeji from Atakumosas East local government and Hon Dolapo from Ejigbo local government on Saturday pointed accusing fingers at Ademola Adeleke’s political base over the inclusion of their names and signatures as parties behind a press conference purportedly addressed by former field officers of Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi.
Saying that forgery is one of the techniques of fraud, including identity theft, they warned that forgery involves a false document, signature, or other imitation of an object of value used with the intent to deceive another. They added that they abhor the dastardly act.
It would be recalled that one Awosiyan Kingsley had at a press conference held in Osogbo on Thursday claimed to speak on behalf of ”Former coordinators/ Field Officer/Apex Members of Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi’s Idera De Movement” in all the local government council areas in Osun State.
Kingsley was quoted as saying, ”gentlemen of the press, you are welcome to this occasion meant to tell the whole world of our resolve to dump the operating arm of the former governorship aspirant of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, in the last general elections in our state.”
”We are saying it here loud and clear to the outside world that having weighed all available options, we have decided to change our political platform within our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, to IMOLE DE MOVEMENT under the leadership of Senator Ademola Adeleke. With this our press conference, we are telling everyone that we have, as from this moment henceforth, ceased to be the co-ordinators of Idera De Movement in our respective local government councils.”
Not pleased with the declarations, Hon Dimeji and Hon Dolapo schooled Kingsley and his allies saying: “identity theft is a crime wherein the perpetrator wrongfully obtains and uses another person’s personal data in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for gain.”
They added, “we are not parties to the press conference and should be counted out of the lies and forgeries aimed at boosting Ademola Adeleke’s false sense of dominance and ego. They should bury their heads in shame if they have a conscience. Because nothing can be more insulting than a grand scale identity theft and forgeries.”
Also, in their separate reactions, Engr. Adesewo Frankie, a PDP House of Assembly Candidate during the 2018 election, from Ilesha East LG and Hon. Busayo Akinsuyan whose names and signatures also appeared on the list presented by Kingsley kicked against the development.
Engr. Adesewo Frankie on Thursday said, “as an adult, while Kingsley is entitled to his opinion and is absolutely free to express himself and make any decision he deems fit, dragging my name into it and forging my signature to give credibility to this political escapade and induced move is nonsensical and unacceptable.”
“In strong term, I condemn the inclusion of my name and forgery of my signature in support of the press conference I know not about. Over the years, I have invested a lot in building my name. I have no business or interest in fueling the unfortunate crisis within our party. To me, united we stand and divided we fall. By God’s grace, I am contended and will continue to carry out my activities with the fear of God.”
“This disclaimer is consistent with my political and personal resolve. And, going forward, I shall not hesitate to seek redress in the court of law if my name or signature is further forged to sign any document I know not about.”
Similarly, Hon. Busayo rejected the claim by Kingsley and wondered why his name and signature were included as a party to the press conference. His words, “this is simply disgusting. I have not once attended a meeting with them and never gave my consent to be a part of their movement. I am surprised when I saw my name and signature on the list presented by Kingsley and his cohorts in support of their press conference.”
“They should count me out and focus on the pot of honey they are eyeing. I abhor forgery and anything that is driven by selfish interest. My support for Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, as well as my stand with Idera De Movement, remains unshaken.”
