Igege Indigenes cry for help over land grabbing by monarch


Igege Indigenes Cry for Help Over Incessant Land Sales, Grabbing by Monarch.

Residents of Igege in Ola Oluwa Local Government of Osun State, has called on constituted authorities at all levels to come to their aid over Incessant land grabbing/sales by the Onigege of Igege, Oba Kazeem Adio

They alleged the king of indiscriminate selling of Igege land without the consent of the owner.

He said the patience of land owners is taken for stupidity, saying they are ready to defend their heritage.

They further alleged the king of using constituted authorities to imprison those defending their family against grabbing.

Addressing the press today in Igege, the residents, led by Mr. Sikiru Adebisi, Prince Kayode Alao and Prince Isiaka Ayoade, decried victimization by the monarch, urging well meaning individual of conscience and government to come to their rescue in the land.

“The spate of grabbing our land with impunity in Igege is worrisome. We are dying. All our land in Igege is gone. The king sell our lands without consent. We can’t continue like this. We appeal to the government, Oluwo and other well meaning Nigerians to assist us. We are fed up. Onigege is using the police and judiciary to maltreat us despite been the owner of our land”

“Iwoland leaders should not fold their hands. Igege is choked. Many are wallowing in abject because their farm lands are taken and sold neither compensation nor consent. And most victims are farmers. The king has turned many to beggers. Onigege has turned landlords to scavengers. God should take charge. We are tired of this hardship impute on us by Onigege”
