“All of a Sudden” (About COVID-19)
All of a Sudden a Poem by Carl Jason Pre Malana.
Every hour there are changes,
Every day there are damages,
At this moment, we’re still in a cage.
All of a sudden, the whole world stopped,
as the enemy conquers the entire map.
We fight, but always with a gap; we struggle,
but it feels that we’re trapped. All of a sudden,
the stars stopped twinkling,
as the sun and moon stopped shining.
We are all sightless as we are battling;
we are all powerless as we are endeavoring.
All of a sudden, all of them came;
they came as altered heroes without a name.
Save us from death was their aim,
even if they will be close to the flame.
All of a sudden, some of them fell down;
as if they were dried leaves, utterly brown.
In the sea of sadness, they were drowned;
but they drowned with dignity,
wearing their crown.
All of a sudden, all of us became soldiers;
soldiers in this war, soldiers in this nightmare.
The safety of our lives we truly bear,
to re-establish the normal,
to experience again the morning air.
All of a sudden, the people unite,
we come together, fighting in this fight.
We will hold each other’s hands so tight,
we will claim the victory,
we will bring back the light.
There will be an hour without sudden change,
There will be a day without any damage,
There will be a moment for us to be uncaged.
